Trump defends pausing tariffs on some goods in Canada, Mexico

In an attempt to provide clarity on the latest tariff negotiations, President Donald Trump explained a reason that agreed to another one -month pause at a 25 % tax on Canada and Mexico.
“I wanted to help Mexico and Canada somewhat. We are a large and large country, and they do a lot of work with us, while in our case, it is much less important. We are doing a lot with Canada in comparison. I wanted to help American car makers until April 2.
“But this is in the short term. I felt for the sake of the interest of American car makers and USMCA … I thought it would be fair to do so,” the president continued. “Thus I gave them a little comfort for this short period of time.”
On Thursday, Trump announced that he exempts most of the goods from Canada and Mexico covered by the United States, Mexico and Kanaada agreement (USMCA) from its 25 % definitions next month.

The customs duties entered into force earlier this week, and they will now be returned on April 2. After Trump entered it, Canada also said it would put a tariff related to the same treatment on the United States

“Definitions can rise over time, and may rise,” Trump’s expansion with Bartopiromo.
“For years, globalization, great globalization, was holding the United States. They took money away from the United States. All we do is to restore some of them, and we will deal with our country fairly,” he added.

As part of his first initiatives, Trump said that definitions will be placed on trade neighbors in America after the announcement of the death of Fintanel is a national emergency.
He said that the drug is making its way from China to the United States through Mexican and Canadian imports.
