26 Americans freed from captivity abroad under Trump, including Taliban and Hamas hostages

At least 26 Americans have been released, who have seized hostages abroad since President Donald Trump entered the Oval Office in January. Those who gained their freedom include a ballet, a teacher and a mechanic, among others.

Ryan Corbett and William McKinity

On January 21, 2025, just one day after Trump’s second term began, Ryan Corbit and William McCain was released from the Taliban families in Afghanistan. While Corbett and McKinity were released during the Trump era, the deal that obtained their release was completed by the Biden administration.

Corbett and his family moved to Afghanistan in 2010, where they lived in Kabul and Jalabad. According to the website established by his family, Corbett worked in NGOs, which focused on education, childbirth and life saving skills. It also started a project in 2017, Bloom Afghanistan, with the aim of strengthening the private sector in the country. In 2021, the Corbit family was evacuated when the Taliban took control of the country. Corbett returned to Afghanistan a year later and was arrested by the Taliban, whose family suspects that his “value as political annexes.”

There are no many details about McKenty or exactly why he was in Afghanistan. According to the BBC, his family requested a privacy.

Two Americans were released against the Taliban prisoner

Anastasia Noro, who was seized in Belarus during the Biden administration, gained its freedom on January 26, 2025, while Foreign Minister Marco Rubio announced the launch of Norver, no details about her detention or why. However, according to Associated Press, a former high -ranking official said that the arrest was linked to the 2020 protests against the President of the Belarusian Alexander Lukashenko.

Six American citizens whose name is not revealed

Special envoy Rick Greenil obtained the release of six Americans after his meeting with Venezuelan President Nicholas Maduro. Greenil posted a picture of himself and men on a plane and said they “could not stop thanks” Trump when talking to him on the phone. Men were not recognized.

After spending 484 days in Gaza, Keith Siegel was released as part of the ceasefire deal on February 1, 2025. Siegel was taken from Kibbutz KFAR AZA during the Hamas attacks on October 7. His wife, Aviva, was taken into account, but was released in November 2023.

“President Trump, I am here, and I am alive. President Trump, I saved my life,” said Sigil. Trump also asked to continue working to ensure freedom of 59 remaining hostages in Gaza.

Vogel was carrying less than one ounce of medical marijuana, according to his family’s location, which he used for severe pain. The Fujil family criticized the treatment of former President Joe Biden for the Mark case, especially in light of his work to release the WnBa Prittenn Grener player, who was also arrested because of his presence in marijuana.

On July 13, 2024, the mother of Vogel, Malfin, attended the Trump gathering in Bater, Pennsylvania, Mark’s birthplace. She spoke with Trump, who promised to bring her son home.

An American did not reveal his name

On February 12, 2025, Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced that an “unfairly detained in Belarus” was released. The statement did not include details or identifying information about the hostage. In a press release, Rubio affirmed the administration’s commitment to the issuance of Americans who held hostages all over the world.

On October 7, 2023, the Israeli -American terrorists, Sajoy Dickel Chen, were taking hostage from his home from his home in Kibbutz Nir Oz. He was shot in the shoulder during the massacre and tortured torture while he was in captivity.

Dickel Chen spent approximately 500 days in Gaza and gained his freedom in February 2025. While he was families, his wife gave birth to her third child. He only learned about the birth of his daughter after his release.

10 Americans did not reveal his name

On March 13, 2025, 10 unidentified Americans, including veterans and military contractors, were released from families in Kuwait. According to Associated Press, American citizens were arrested on drug charges.

George Galzmann

The airline mechanics in the Delta George Gilzmann spent more than two years as a hostage in Gaza after his arrest by the Taliban in December 2022. According to senator John Osov and Raphael Warrnuk, they are both Democrats from Georgia, Glizmann went to “Afghanistan for a five -day trip to explore the cultural and rich logic of the country.” The Senate called for the release of Galzmann, which eventually occurred March 20, 2025.
