Hundreds of flights out of Newark canceled, delayed due to construction, staffing

More than 400 flights were postponed inside and outside the Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) in Newark, New Jersey, on Thursday, and more than 200 flights were canceled due to a lack of employment in air traffic control and construction on one of three runways.

The airport provided travelers on social media on Thursday afternoon, and advised them to delay and cancel.

“You may face delay and cancellation in @wareport due to a combination of FAA deficiency, FAA equipment, and wind conditions,” EWR was posted on X.

In another post earlier in the day, the airport referred to construction as one of the reasons for the delay.

One of the X users asked when the construction was expected to be completed, and the airport responded, saying: “One of our runways for the necessary reforms is closed from now to mid -June 202.”

“We are working with our airlines to reduce the effects, but please review your airline to get updates as the flight schedules are affected,” EWR Books.

Another X user asked why problems in Newark had “every day.”

“Good evening,” the airport answered. “Because of the FAA’s continuous challenges, EWR suffers from operational disorders. Please check your flight with your airline.”

According to Flightaware.com, there were 422 delay in Newark Liberty International and 202 cancellation.

FAA did not respond to the Fox News Digital request for comments on the lack of employment and travel disabling.
