India born exec Shailesh Jejurikar named next P&G CEO: Here’s what we know about him

Procter & Gamble Shailesh Jejurikar has been appointed as its next CEO, which represents a rare elevation from an executive of Indian generator at the head of the giant of American companies. John Muller will succeed on January 1, 2026, at a time when consumer goods face Titan to continue the universal winds.
Jiguricar, 58, is currently working as the CEO of Operations and will also be nominated to the company’s board of directors at the next shareholder meeting in October. Join P&G in 1989 as an assistant brand director in India, and since then the ranks have risen across the sections and continents.
His appointment comes at a time when P&G is subjected to sales slowing, volatile demand for consumers, and pressure from changing commercial policies. The shares of the company decreased by 6.3 % this year, which led to the performance of the S& P 500 index, which increased by 8.6 %.
Muller, 61, who has been the CEO since 2021, will move to the CEO. He said the timing was true. He said in an interview: “I feel satisfied with the team that will continue our leadership,” describing the appointment of Gorikar as “strengthening what we were doing.”
Jejurikar has extensive experience in overseeing the market markets in P&G – including Latin America, India, the Middle East and Southeast Asia – as well as driving in basic processes such as IT, sales, manufacturing and new business. It also operated the largest section of P&G, Fabric & Home Care, home to brands like Tide, Ariel, Downy and Febzeze, which leads about a third of the company’s revenues.
This is due to the growing brands across both advanced and emerging markets and the integration of sustainability into P&G operations.
Among the challenges awaiting what Muller described as “the changing organizational environment” and “division at the societal, political and geopolitical levels – the factors that affect consumer confidence worldwide.
Jiguricar was born in Mumbai and attended the Hyderabad Public School – as well as Micros Satia Nadella. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Mumbai and a Master of Business Administration from the Indian Institute of Management, Leno.
Jejurikar joined P&G in 1989 as an assistant brand director in India.
His older brother, Rajash Jiguricar, is also a major executive official – as he was an executive director at Mahindra & Maahindra. Rajish said: “It is a matter of pride for all of us to see the Indians rise to the best degrees of global organizations.”
