India’s real rival isn’t China, warns a VC firm founder as Vietnam rewrites its growth playbook

While India acquires the separation of China, the real manufacturing competitor may be Vietnam, at least according to Rajeev Mantri.
“Vietnam rapidly restructuring her government, as the number of provinces and cities decreased, eliminating a full layer of the government, and laying off at least 20 % of civilian employees by 2030,” Mantri writes on X.
“The aim of this is to simplify bureaucracy, reduce corruption, and increase economic growth, with the goal of 8 % in 2025 and at least 10 % after that.”
The law was signed as Resolution 60, the reforms are the most severe since the liberation of Moy’s sound in 1986. LAM Secretary -General leads the charge, undertakes to clarify administrative obstacles, reorganize the internal structure of the Communist Party, and number nearly a third of all procedures.
Vietnam will reduce 63 provinces and cities to September 34, remove ineffective areas, and rest more than five civilian employees within five years. The country hopes that this will not only increase transparency, but also allows more than 60 % of provinces to directly reach the sea – which is respectful of industries such as seafood exports, tourism and ports.
Lam, who took office after the death of his long predecessor, Naguin Bou Trung, has quick changes in his follow -up with a clear warning: “The rest of the world has gone forward from us. They are also growing very quickly. If we don’t start, we will lose.”
With civil service employees winning between $ 110 and $ 890 per month, the government hopes that the best measures will be to pay for private sector standards that will intensify corruption. However, abandoning archaeological officials for a long time is still a political sensitivity. Lam said: “Those who do not see themselves benefit the requirements, they should proactively resign … It is a brave work,” Lam said.
Legislators in Vietnam will meet during the month of May and June to pass the enabling legislation, even if that means “work overnight.” High risks-by 2045, the government wants Vietnam to be a high-income nation, and one bureaucracy-free law.
