From 1965 to 2024, Berkshire Hathaway Stock returned 5,502,284 %. In that same time period, S&P 500, with profit distributions, provided 39,054 %. Berkshire Hathaway’s annual profit during that period was 19.9 %. The S& P 500 % was 10.4 %.

On Saturday, Buffett announced that he intends to step down from his role as CEO of Berkshire Hathaway and his role was transferred to Greg Abel.

Berkshire Hathaway was unanimously agreed to move on Sunday. ABEL will become the CEO on January 1, 2026, and Buffett will remain the Chairman of the Board of Directors.
