Iran vows ‘wrath’ if Trump renames Persian Gulf Arabian Gulf: ‘Hostile intent’

President Donald Trump is said to rename the Persian Gulf to the Persian Gulf before his trip to the Middle East in the coming days.
The expected announcement was reported for the first time on Wednesday by the Associated Press, which clashed with the Trump administration earlier this year, the president had to rename the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America.
Fox News Digital connects to the White House to comment, but he did not hear immediately. AP was martyred with American officials who spoke, provided that his identity was not disclosed to discuss the matter.
The Iranian Foreign Minister criticized the reported change, and wrote that “attempts with political motives to change the historically fixed name of the Persian Gulf indicate an enemy intention towards Iran and its people, and are firmly convicted.”

“Such biased measures are an insult to all Iranians, regardless of their background or place of residence. Let’s hope that the ridiculous rumors about the Persian Gulf that revolves around them are more than just a consumer campaign by” warriors forever “of Iranian anger around the world,” Seyed Abbas Araghchi wrote on X.
The Foreign Minister said that the name of the Persian Gulf is “deeply rooted in the history of mankind” and that Iran “has never objected to the use of names such as the Sea of Oman, the Indian Ocean, the Arab Sea or the Red Sea.”
“The use of these names does not mean ownership by any specific nation, but it reflects the common respect for the collective heritage of humanity,” Abbas Aragchchi wrote, adding that he is confident of Trump, ”he realizes that the name of the Persian Golf is centuries old and recognized by all international paintings and bodies, and it has been used by all the leaders of the region soon in 1960.
“While any short -sighted step in this regard will not have any legal or geographical impact, it will only bring the wrath of all Iranians from all aspects of life and political persuasion in Iran and the United States and around the world,” he said.
Trump will travel in the coming days to the Middle East, where he will visit the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, all of which are on the body of water.

Trump raises a “very big advertisement” before the Middle East trip, Carney says he is on the edge of my seat.
American and Iranian officials are expected to meet in the fourth round of nuclear talks in Amman in the coming days. Vice President JD Vance said on Wednesday that the United States is negotiating for a “complete endowment” of Tehran’s nuclear program.
The Arab countries pushed to change the geographical name of the water body off the southern coast of Iran, while Iran maintained its historical and Gulf relations under the Persian Empire.
The Persian Gulf has been widely known by this name since the sixteenth century, although the use of the “Gulf of the Arabian Peninsula” and the “Arab Gulf” is dominant in many countries in the Middle East, according to AP. The government of Iran – previously Persia – threatened to prosecute Google in 2012 regarding the company’s decision not to nominate the water group at all on its maps.

On Google Maps in the United States, the water body appears as the “Persian Gulf” followed by the “Arab Gulf” in brackets. Apple maps say the Persian Gulf only.
For years, the US military has referred to the Persian Gulf as the Persian Gulf in the statements and images it issued.

A dispute was developed in 2017 during the first period of Trump when the Arab Gulf name was used for the waterway. At that time, the President of Iran, Hassan Rohani, suggested that Trump needs to “study geography.”
“Everyone knew that Trump’s friendship was offered for sale for the highest bidder. We now know that his geography is also,” said Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on the Internet at the time.
