On Sunday, the leader of the minority in the House of Representatives, DN.Y, admitted that he had not yet supported Zahran Mamdani for the position of mayor of New York City, and faced interrogation about the reason for not supporting the progressive candidate in his original city.

Jeffrez made his remarks to Jonathan Karl on “this week” from ABC, adding that he spoke with Mamdani on Wednesday to congratulate him on the campaign “that clearly focuses on the high cost of living in New York City and the economy.”

When asked about the support of the mayor’s candidate, the leader of the parliament’s minority said that he and Mamdani “do not know each other well.”

“Our regions do not overlap. I have never had a fundamental conversation with him,” noting that it is “the next step in this process.”
