Johnson and Paul clash over debt ceiling extension in Trump’s spending bill

parliament Speaker Mike Johnson went to the battle with Senator Rand Paul, RPK, due to spending discounts and national debt in the “Grand and Beautiful Bill” of President Donald Trump this week.
Johnson made comments as he appeared on “Fox News Sunday” with the Hannon Bream, after Paul called spending discounts in the current edition of the “WIMPY” bill.
“It seems that his biggest objection is the fact that we are expanding the roof of the debt,” Johnson said on Sunday.
He added: “So, to obtain this through the Senate and ensure that the American economy is not disrupted and the default in our debts for the first time in history, it should be part of the reconciliation package. For this reason, President Trump and all other Republicans in Congress, the House of Representatives and the aging of this understand.”

“I supported tax cuts in 2017. I support her permanent, so I support this part of the bill. I support spending cuts. I think that the cuts currently in the draft law are multi -lukewarm, but I still support the bill, even with the absence of nearly the environment. In fact, he was talking about the debt explosion of $ 5 trillion.

He went on to say that there is no way that he can vote in favor of a draft law that raises the debt ceiling of $ 5 trillion.
“There must be someone who left in Washington believes that the debts are wrong and that the deficit is wrong and wants to go in the other direction,” he said.
Paul instead suggested that the debt ceiling raised for a period of three months, or 500 billion dollars, on a trading basis. He said that the vote on this issue every three months would force the leadership to take the case seriously by setting the lack of progress in American policy.

“The deficit is a threat to our country. I think it’s the biggest threat to national security. So I think you cannot do this,” Paul said.
