A federal judge, Nicholas Rosk, who is now going to Sophie, was sentenced to eight years in prison on Friday for his attempt to kill Judge Brett Cavano in the weeks before the DobBS decision of the Supreme Court.
The sentence is much lower than the Ministry of Justice. Prosecutors said that Rosk should face at least 30 years, while Rosk’s defense team requested eight.
Judge Deborah Burdmann said during the ruling’s pronouncement session that although Rosk’s actions “deserve impurities”, the judge considered a series of mitigating factors, including that Rosak “automatically admitted to the police and cooperated with it.”

“I think Mrs. Rosk understands that what she did was terribly wrong. I find her remorse,” said Burdman.
“The sentence should” send a very strong, clear message that the ends never justify violent means. “

Mao said that Cavano received a death threat in April from a person who necessitated the name Rosk and indicated the shooting of justice in the head, stressing the need to deter such behavior. This revelation comes at a time when judges say they have faced a rise in threats of people through the political spectrum in recent years.
During the session, Burdamman referred to Rosk as a transgender woman, and Rosk’s lawyers recently informed that while the legal name of their customer is Nicholas, Rosk bears the name of Sophie and uses female pronouns.
Burdman, appointed by Biden, said that she had brought her concern about Trump’s executive order that requires the detention of sexual transgender prisoners in prison that corresponds to their gender at birth.
Rosk acknowledged that he was guilty in April for one charge for an attempt to kill the Supreme Court judge, who carries a life sentence.
On June 8, 2022, Rosk flew from California to Virginia and took a taxi to the Cavano title, armed with a pistol, knife, lock selection set, adhesive tape, hammer, Crode, tactical equipment.

In the weeks before the accident, the defendant was widely searched online for information about many judges and collective leaders, methods of harming people and graphic images for people with knife wounds. One of the research wrote, “Is it wrapped or withdrawing a knife causes more damage.”
The history of the Internet of Rosk also indicated the desire to influence the results of the Dubes decision at the time, as it was expected that the Supreme Court would turn the federal right to abortion.
The assassination attempt came at a time when the activists were protesting in front of the homes of the conservative judges, prompting the Ministry of Justice to deploy the American warfares to their homes to provide security around the clock.
Rosk admitted that he noticed that the guards at the Cavano’s house, which prosecutors said Rosk had changed the path and walking on the street before reporting himself to 911.
Rosk’s goal was “explicitly both to change the outcome of the suspended Supreme Court case, a subordinate case”, and “to change the court formation for decades to come,” Mao argued with the judge.

Rosk’s lawyers played part of the 911 invitation to the court hall, where Rosk tells one of the missionaries about the existence of “suicide and killed ideas”. Lawyers confirmed that Rosk has long been deeply depressed and was looking for treatment.
Rosk appeared in a yellow seed in the courtroom, she apologized for the intimidation of Cavano and his family and “contributing to the experience of fear judges as a result of making their jobs.”

“I was photographed as a monster, and this tragic mistake I committed will follow me for the rest of my life,” Rosk said.
Judge Rosk also ruled for life to the release subject to supervision. The Ministry of Justice enables the sentence to appeal because it enjoys the instructions for issuing rulings.
