Kandi Burruss is opening up about ending her marriage to Todd Tucker

On Friday, November 21, PEOPLE shared Kandi Burruss’ exclusive statement, in which she revealed that she and Todd Tucker are separating after eleven years of marriage. Kandi told the outlet that deciding to get a divorce was a difficult choice, but she focused on co-parenting their children in a healthy and positive way.

“After deep thought and much prayer, I have made the decision to move forward with the divorce. This is a difficult and emotional time, but my focus remains on protecting my peace, being the best mother I can be, and co-parenting with love and respect,” Kandi told PEOPLE.

Additionally, the former “RHOA” star said she’s looking forward to starting a new chapter and asked for grace as she navigates the transition. “I am stepping into a new chapter that informs my business, family and personal growth. I am grateful to everyone who has supported us over the years.” Boros continued, “I ask for privacy, grace and understanding as we navigate this transition with our family.”

Fans may remember that Kandi and Todd met while filming Season 4 of “Real Housewives of Atlanta” in 2011. PEOPLE reported that they got engaged in January 2013 and later married in April 2014. The couple has two children together: a 9-year-old son, Ace, and 5-year-old daughter Blaze. They also both have children from previous relationships: Burruss has a 23-year-old daughter named Riley, and Tucker has a 29-year-old daughter named Kayla. Candy and Todd also have several business ventures together – a soul food restaurant chain in Georgia and a trucking company.
