Kelli Giddish Talks SVU Return, Rollins and Benson Friendship (Excl)

Giddish also praised Fazekas for having “high regard” for Rollins and allowing the character to show how much she has grown and changed.

“Of course, she understands how important Benson and Rollins’ relationship is to us personally and to the audience,” the actress said of the showrunner. “I think it really works with that.”

Giddish noted that she also “appreciates” fans who share “the same feelings” about her return.

“We’re all happy to be there. We’re all very curious. And we’re all committed to telling these stories, which is a lot of fun,” she said. “I know it’s a really heavy load — the subject matter, portraying what bad guys do to other people — but we, as a cast and crew, are just a strong group of people, and it’s a lot of fun to be there.”

Along with the first ever female showrunner (we Shocked too ), Giddish teased that she and Hargitay and Amy Donna Kelly (Captain Rene Carey) are the “modernized Charlie’s Angels” on set.

“Being three strong women, I think we welcome the trio and the comparison,” Giddish said, hinting at a “very strong partnership” between Rollins and Curry in the near future.
