Kevin Warsh odds jump 27 points on Kalshi as Trump Fed chair race narrows

Traders on the Kalshi Prediction Market platform place odds on the president Donald Trump Kevin Warsh’s choice to succeed Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell is 42%, an increase of 27 percentage points this week.

Kevin Hassett remains the most likely candidate to lead the world’s most powerful powers Central Bankand has a 50% chance despite being down 20 points.

Trading volume, or the total dollar amount bet in this market, is just over $10.2 million.

Kalshi allows users to bet real money on everything from politics and economic policy to sports and pop culture, turning public sentiment into tradable market odds.

Trump said on Friday that his main nominees are former Federal Reserve Governor Kevin Warsh and National Economic Council Director Kevin Hassett.

“Yes, I think it is. I think you have Kevin and Kevin. Both of them – I think Kevin is great,” Trump said. “I think there are two other great people.”

Trump says Warsh and Hassett are top contenders to be Fed chairman

Hassett, Trump’s chief economic adviser, has been a staunch advocate for Trump’s economic agenda and currently serves as director of the White House National Economic Council.

Hassett served in two positions during Trump’s first administration and advised Trump on economic policy during the 2024 presidential campaign.

Warsh, a Hassett rival with deep economic credentials, joined the Fed’s board of governors in 2006. At the time, the former Morgan Stanley banker was the youngest person to serve on the board.

Warsh was among Trump’s leading candidates to replace Fed chairman Janet Yellen In 2017. Trump eventually appointed Powell to the position.

More recently, he was considered a contender for Treasury secretary in Trump’s second administration before the president turned to former hedge fund boss Scott Besent.
