Kuldeep Yadav’s IPL team to be changed! Australian captain initiates move

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are said to be on the hunt for a quality spinner ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2026) mini-auction, which is expected to be held in December.

SRH captain Pat Cummins wrote to wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav expressing his interest in bringing him into the team last year.

Kuldeep has been in exceptional form in all formats. He was India’s best bowler in the 2025 Asia Cup, taking the top wicket-taker spot with 17 strikes in seven matches.

The left-arm pacer is currently part of Australia’s T20I squad, and the opening match in Canberra was canceled due to rain.

RepSports journalist Rohit Juglan revealed on his YouTube channel that SunRisers Hyderabad was looking for a quality spinner ahead of the upcoming IPL season.

Goughlan said Pat Cummins approached Kuldeep Yadav last year to discuss the possibility of joining SRH. He also noted that the franchise is still looking for a bowler capable of delivering four reliable overs.

“SRH was looking for a spinner, as I reported earlier. Last year, Pat Cummins had written to Kuldeep Yadav. There were discussions between Cummins and Kuldeep about whether he was interested in joining. Zeeshan looks like a very good option,” Goglan said.

“He is playing for Meerut Mavericks in the UP T20 League. Zeeshan is definitely a strong contender. However, I still think SRH is looking for someone who can deliver those crucial fours with quality. As for batting, I don’t think they will release Ishan Kishan,” he added.

Kuldeep Yadav has been a vital part of the Delhi Capitals (DC) setup since IPL 2022. His consistent performances over the years have made him one of the most reliable players in the league.

Delhi acquired Kuldeep for Rs 2 crore in the 2022 mega auction. Ahead of the 2025 IPL season, the franchise showed huge faith in him by retaining the wrist-spinner for a whopping ₹13.25 crore.

Kuldeep took 15 wickets in 14 matches at an economy rate of 7.08 and an average of 24.07, with his best figures being 3/22. His control and wicket-taking ability have cemented his status as a key member of the DC bowling unit.
