Former New York Governor Andrew Como said on Thursday that President Donald Trump did not send the National Guard to New York City amid violent riots George Floyd for 2020.
Como’s comments came during the second of the Democratic Democrats discussions of New York City after he was asked how he would deal with the current situation on anti -ice protests and the president’s decision to involve military personnel.
“President Trump did it, and Trump won. He did it several times. He sent forces to cities throughout the country. This is the muscles, authoritarian, he is the supreme leader,” he said. “He never sent them to New York because I told him,” It is better not to send the forces to New York. We do not need it. This will be an anti -action. It will be a problem. “

Trump ordered thousands of National Guard forces and hundreds of naval infantry to go to Los Angeles during the weekend and help in suppressing unrest and assisting federal immigration authorities in their efforts to deport illegal immigrants. During the riots of George Floyd for the year 2020, Trump directed federal forces to Washington, DC and Portland, Oregon, in an attempt to end the destruction, danger and chaos.
New York City witnessed some of the greatest violence during riots in Floyd, but Trump has never published any federal agents there, as Komo pointed out during the discussion.
