LARRY KUDLOW: America is open for business

In the past two days, president Trump has said that America is open for business, and it is the hottest country in the world. Mark those words. It is reinventing capitalism. It reimagines capitalism. And the rest of the world believes him. If you listen to the media cacophony of leftists against Trump, you won’t believe a word of it.

There is supposed to be a massive wave of pessimism targeting the president and perhaps the country as well. And I don’t buy it. And neither should you. Yes, Mr. Trump’s polls are fairly low, but he is in a better position at this point in the first year of his second term than many other recent presidents. Rasmussen received 47% approval. 51% refused. Big deal.

Money is flowing into this country like we have never seen before. Whatever the correct number is, $9 trillion, $15 trillion, $20 trillion. Everything is great. It is a vote of confidence in the US economy and the dollar. And our national security policies. Mr. Trump is working to lower taxes, liberalize businesses, and practice reciprocal fair trade. There was no global retaliatory trade war. There has been a global move to establish fair trade agreements with the United States.

Stock market indices are just below record highs after tremendous performance this year. The economy could grow at a rate of approximately 4%. More than twice as much as the so-called experts think. Today’s jobs report was twice as strong as expected. Next year, workers will receive several thousand dollars in tax refunds. Already this year, businesses large and small are benefiting from immediate cost expenditures that have become retroactive. Purchase machinery and equipment and build factories.

The borders are completely closed. Nearly 2 million people have deported themselves. Most streets are safer. Peace is thriving in the Middle East and elsewhere. Something people thought they would never see in their lives.

Peace through strength works. As Ronald Reagan always said, a nation strong at home is a strong nation abroad. Mr. Trump is doing this job. I don’t care what the leftist media says. America is getting better and better.
