Billy “Tyson the Turk” Deniz (14-0, 5 KOs) The outclassed and outclassed Eworitse Ezra Arenyeka (14-2, 11 KOs), won by eight points decision in light heavyweight action in the first fight of the main card. Referee Steve Gray scored the score 79-74.

It was a sloppy fight by Ezra, who used a lot of unnecessary movement in the first three rounds and rarely threw any punches. Referee Gray stopped play in the first round to speak to both fighters due to inaction. Both fighters appeared armed. As the fight went on, Ezra became more comfortable, pressing the action, but frequently missing his shots.

Deniz suffered an injury to his right eye in the fourth round due to a head collision. There were occasional additional clashes in the fourth and fifth rounds due to Ezra’s style of advancing in a bull-like manner. From rounds five to eight, it was Diniz who landed the better shots, but he lacked the power to hurt Ezra. Sometimes, Ezra would get nice right hands, but there weren’t enough of them.

What’s at stake tonight: Buatsi (19-1, 13 KO) lost his last fight against Callum Smith. He needs a win tonight over Parker (26-1, 18 KOs) to put him in position to challenge three-belt 175-pound unified champion Dmitry Bivol or the winner of the David Benavidez vs. Anthony Yarde bout for the WBC title.

Parker has a chance to put himself in the title picture after losing to John Ryder via injury stoppage several years ago in 2022. Zach has won his last four matches since that defeat.
