Los Angeles County officials call for a decree to ban law enforcement officers to hide their identities during service.
The move comes after the recent federal immigration raids in the city, where some federal agents covered their faces with masks and refused to reveal their identities, which is abnormal.
The Supervisors Council voted 4-0, with one refusal, on Tuesday, to direct the provincial lawyer to draft a decree prohibiting law enforcement, including federal agents, to wear masks, with some exceptions including medical protection or during rapid operations.
The officers will also be asked to offer identification and belonging to the agency clearly during service in public places.

Federal agents have made ice raids in southern California since June under the leadership of the mass deportation agenda of President Donald Trump, which sparked protests and subsequent federal publication of the National Guard and the Marine Corps. Since then, about half of the Guard forces and all the naval infantry have been withdrawn from Los Angeles.
The supervisor, Janes Han, who participated in the composition of the proposal, said that the raids raised fear and that the residents have the right to know who stops, interrogates or detained.
Han said: “All over the province, people are pulled out of their cars, beaten, and educated from their families by men in tactical equipment with eclavas, no badges, and no names.” “This is not the way you should work for law enforcement in democracy.”
Han admitted that it is unclear whether the boycott would be able to impose a procedure against procedures by federal agencies, including American immigration and customs enforcement.
“In the end, the court may be decided,” she said.

Administration officials have defended officials who hide their identities, on the pretext that immigration agents do this for their safety to avoid the potential and avoiding death threats, which include the launch of a person’s personal information over the Internet without their permission.
“I am sorry if people are wounded through them, they wear masks, but I will not allow my officers and agents to go out and put their lives at the stake, and their family is at stake because people do not like what migration is enforceable.”
The suspended procedure in the state legislative council will prevent the local police and the federal police from covering their faces during service in the state of Golden. Similar legislation was proposed in other states, and the United States of America has submitted Alex Padilla and D-Calif. Cory Boker, DN.J. A bill at the federal level.

In Los Angeles Province, the provincial lawyer has 60 days to present a draft decree to the Board of Directors for approval.
The supervisor Hilda Solis, the other author, said that local officials must prove expectations about how law enforcement is to act in the province.
Solis said: “The use of masks, tactical gear, and refusing to show identity not only worrying and confusing, but also eats the confidence of the audience and raises fears related to serious safety.”
