Luton 1 – 0 Wimbledon

The goal of the late Ryan Johnson Luton Town won a lucky and difficult 1-0 victory over AFC Wimbledon in the opening match in the first league on Friday evening.

Outside the back of the consecutive deportation, the Loton Bloomfield coach will be happy with the three points on the Kenyrsle Road to start his campaign in 2025/26, although they worked and created little before the late penetration.

These two sides were two championships just three months ago, and three championships are slightly over a year, but the stadium was settled on the Kenyrsh road.

It remained like this for the vast majority of the game, taking a moment of the real ordeal from the AFC Wimbledon perspective in 85 minutes to break the rigidity, as Johnson rose to a head ring of Nahki Wells via Nathan Bishop goalkeeper.

Bloomfield: We are not the final product yet

Luton Boss Bloomfield:

“We are happy to win. We are a sophisticated group and we are defending many bodies. We are on a trip to the final product, but we haven’t wanted yet. This is clear.

“We still want to be better in the first trimester of the field. We got there a lot and we were not clinical enough. There is a lot in my mind now. But we must be happy to start at the beginning of the victory.

“We still put the puzzle pieces together, and we will improve as the season continues.”

Jackson: It is difficult to take

AFC Wimbledon Boss Johnnie Jackson:

“I faded on the players and supporters. Loss of the game in this way was harsh. It is a lucky goal from their point of view.

“I thought we defended the wonderful and we had a good temple and form for us. They were unable to see us. If he lost a goal for the lower side of the bar was difficult to take.”

Ryan Johnson’s unfortunate goal put Luton Town late in the opening match in the first league against AFC Wimbledon

Former Captain Luton Town Tom Locker on Sky Sports football:

“Over the past two years, we haven’t really got this luck on our part. To get a victory early, however, it comes. You want to play liquid football but Wimbledon came with a football game and implement it very well.

“I entered Cole Woodro once in the back and get a little luck. It’s three points and the ball is trading.”

Former Luton Town player Cortis Davis in Sky Sports Football:

“Loton is the big dogs in this league now. They have been weakened before, but now everyone will come here wanting to get their scalp.

“AFC Wimbledon will be built on the defense and it will happen a lot. Matt Bloomfield must find a way, and this will give him food to think about how to move forward.

Former Wimbledon player Jobi Mcanuf on Sky SPORTS Football:

“AFC Wimbledon will encourage great disappointment. They defended well throughout the team. They were great. Ryan Johnson was one of the best players on the field, so he is very unlikely for him.

“There will be a lot of positives for Johnny Jackson to take out that game, despite the result.”
