Lyft rides get less tech-savvy for the aging loved ones in our lives

Every time my father must ask one of his perfumes, deal with online banking, or reserve a trip, he looks around my brothers to do the needy on his phone. Modern software is no less than a risky digital maze for him and millions of others like him.
Lyft, one of the largest riding services in the United States, takes on the United States, this digital gap with a new service designed for our elderly loved ones. The service, called Lyft Silver, lives as its own experience in the main application, but with a much simpler user interface and some additional access privileges.
How does Lyft Silver work?
All you have to do is launch the Lyft app, open the “You” option in the lower right corner, select Lyft Silver. Doing this will immediately replace the application’s user interface to a much simpler format with a fewer options, fast control items and large texts.
The font size is increased by 1.4X, and there are only two button on the home screen. One to book a trip, and the other to scheduling it. “The goal is to reduce the visual deviations that may hinder success, or add any confusion,” says the company.
For the scenarios where the older cyclists may need help, there is a prominent “access to” auxiliary “access” button in the upper right corner of the screen. Clicking the direct phone line link to a human agent will be opened between 8 am and 9 pm EST.
What is special about that?
As the passenger options go, Lyft Silver will only offer two options in the sense. Standard comfort and more. It is worth noting that the company has set a specific set of bases for cars that will move around the older travelers as part of its new service.

For example, the height of the car’s step should not exceed 18 inches, and the seat height should not exceed 18 inches, too. Moreover, cars should be comfortable and wide. Lyft Silver will not publish trucks, sports cars or interest vehicles.
Once the ride starts, the details will be shared with reliable contacts such as care providers and family members for more mental comfort. In the initial stage, Lyft will also provide discounts for older passengers in partnership with Altamed, Urban Legue, Noah, Sage and Self Help.
Lyft Silver will start early access from May 5 in the United States. It will be available within the Android and IOS app. For those who are part of the test collection, they can share an invitation or gift link for Lyft Silver via SMS link with their loved ones.
