Mamdani cites Kalshi forecasts amid surge toward New York Mayoral victory
At a rally in New York City on Monday evening, mayoral candidate Zahran Mamdani pointed to Kalshi’s latest predictions that have the Democrat poised for a landslide victory when New Yorkers go to the polls on Tuesday (November 4).
The 34-year-old state Assemblyman is aiming to become the youngest mayor in more than a century in the Big Apple.
Having already edged out former Gov. Andrew Cuomo in the Democratic primary in recent months, the Ugandan-born democratic socialist is well positioned to complete his ascension to the top job in the United States’ largest city.
“When I walked along Manhattan a few days before the election, hundreds of New Yorkers walked alongside me,” Mamdani said.
“And when we walked into Times Square under a billboard with ‘Kalshi’ odds’ that showed Cuomo’s chances of winning at nearly 80 percent, we knew the so-called experts were about to get it wrong again.”
Mamdani went on to detail the odds in Kalshi’s forecast market, which remain strongly in his favour.
“When you see odds like Elche has our chances of winning in the 90s, know this: You’re reading the same things Andrew Cuomo read when he went to sleep every night in June, believing his victory was promised,” Mamdani said.

President Trump warns New Yorkers about Mamdani
the Prediction market is like nothing The New York City mayoral election currently gives Mamdani an 89% chance of succeeding Eric Adams to lead New York City for the next four years.

Conversely, Cuomo — as an independent — is given only an 11% chance of delivering a late shock.
If Mamdani is elected, he will become the first Muslim mayor in New York City’s history.
His fame and broad appeal with voters came from his focus on bread-and-butter issues that resonated with New Yorkers. He was firm and focused on cost-of-living fundamentals, conveying the message that he would address rents and food prices, as well as the impact on salary levels.
Cuomo attacked his rival on issues of crime and safety, while also suggesting that Mamdani does not have the experience needed to lead New York at this stage of his career.
Meanwhile, President Donald Trump warned that he would not view Mamdani’s election favorably if the election went that way.
“It would be difficult for me as president to give a lot of money to New York, because if you have a communist running New York, all you’re doing is wasting the money you’re sending there,” he told CBS on Sunday.
Trump on Mamdani: "I think I’m a much better person than him, don’t you? It would be difficult for me as president to give a lot of money to New York, because if you have a communist running New York, all you’re doing is wasting the money you’re sending there." pic.twitter.com/SyS0GwHfgQ
