Mamdani’s earlier ‘defund police’ stance resurfaces after deadly Manhattan office shooting

The Democratic Mayor in New York City, Zahran Mandyiani, is facing the renewal of his previous police stances in the wake of a mass shooting to build offices in central Manhattan, killing four civilians as well as a police officer.
“I am sad to get to know the horrific shooting in the city center and carry the victims and their families and the New York police officer in a critical condition in my thoughts. Grateful to all our respondents on the ground,” Mamdani also posted to X on Monday night.
