Manchester United confirmed their plans to build a new 100,000 capacity stadium near Old Trafford’s current home.

The architects in Foster and the new stadium partners and the surrounding complex mention the design of a new umbrella and a public square, “twice the size of the square of the parties”, in line with the government’s growth agenda for the local area.

United says that the project has the ability to provide an additional amount of 7.3 billion pounds to the UK economy, and creates nearly 100,000 new jobs and the leadership of 1.8 million additional visitors to the region annually.
