Man Utd contemplate resting key starters for Newcastle clash

Robin Amorim admitted that the main employees of Sunday’s match with Newcastle United could rest in the second round of the European League final in Manchester United against Lyon.
The Red Devils is traveling to the ST James’ Park, which is looking to end its operation without a victory in the Premier League. But with the club’s pressure in thirteenth place, they only have a pride to play locally from now until the end of the campaign.
However, United faces a huge continental meeting with Lyon on Thursday, fighting to win in the European League and qualify for the Champions League as a result, with the completion of last Thursday 2-2 in France.
Ryan Chirki’s equalizer in the 95th minute denied the UK victory after the goals of the summer signatures of Lenne Euro and Joshua Zerkzi, leaving the accuracy tie before the second stage in Old Trafford.
With such a huge meeting, Amorim admitted that he is considering recycling the ordinary first team against Newcastle because United gives priority to European success.
“It is an evaluation,” Amorim said when he inquired about the players who rest, including Commander Bruno Fernandez. “We will perform this evaluation with all employees, with all the data we have, and then because we already know the players, we will try to protect those that will be difficult to do a lot of games.
“But Bruno Fernandez plays all the time while playing better all the time. Sometimes, this type of players must play in every match. But we will address this these days we have to prepare.”
Fernandez is a major example of a desperate player, as the Portuguese played almost every minute this season – 4,078 of 4,470 possible minutes. However, whether United can manage without their talisman is another question.
Amorim added: “Sometimes, the winning games are the best way to prepare the next game,” Amorim added. “Of course, I will be careful with some players, but we need to be able to compete. When you play with Manchester United, you cannot go to the game you think about the next game.
“So we will face this. We have three days and we will return the game on the way without a lot of running, and a lot of training.
“He is only recovering. Then we will be fine on Thursday with our fans. But we need to face Newcastle in a way that we can win the game.”
