Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gündogan lauds ‘irreplaceable’ Kevin De Bruyne

Kevin de Bruyne is “underestimated” in Manchester City, according to his partner in the Ilkay Gündogan midfield.

Belgium announced that he would leave the city at the end of the season and admitted a surprise that he had not presented a new deal in the federation.

De Bruyne did not make any decision about his next step, but wherever he went, his departure will leave a huge hole on the field and in the dressing room.

“It is indispensable,” Gundogan told ESPN. “We know that no one will just come and be a substitute for it. Of course it will be covered in one way or another. The club always does so.

“What Kev did for the club is incredible. For me personally, in the history of Man City, there is no better player than Kevin De Bruyne. It was a pleasure to share it with him for a long time.

“I had this connection with him outside the field, so it was necessary to get to know him and his family.”

De Bruyne and City Target CUP CUP SUCCESS

De Bruyne will hope to approach the fifteenth main cup with City by helping them overcome Nottingham Forest in the semi -finals of the FA Cup on Sunday.

Winning the FA Cup will be a nice way for a miserable local and continental season, before the city went to the United States for the FIFA World Cup.

Pep Guardiola men failed in their attempts to decline in the Crown in the Premier League in a row – they are in the third place with four games – while their operation in the Champions League ended at the hands of Real Madrid in a round of 16.

The season as a whole has fallen from expectations and Gundogan admits that it is not operating.

He added: “The past has shown that it is not the criterion that we set for ourselves.” “We know that things were not good enough on our side throughout the season. We cannot change that, we can only take them and be honest with ourselves. It is important to admit yourself.

“There are two goals remaining for us. It is clear that one of them qualifies for the Champions League next year, which is vital to the club and also for American players as well.

“The other is an attempt to reach the FA Cup final. We will return to Wembley in the semi -finals and is always special.

“It will be difficult but it will be the only opportunity, with the club’s World Cup, for Silverware this season. We will try to go to it.”

The required improvement after facing the last forest

City lost in Forest last month and Gundogan believes that the rise of Nuno Espereto Santo reflects the difficult Premier League.

He said: “When we lost in their place, we were not at the level of our game and this is what I mean.

“They can be in the Champions League next season and have great quality. We know when we lost against them that it was not good enough on our part. We have to do it better if we want to enter the final.”

Gundogan began winning in the middle of the week over Aston Villa, who strengthened the city’s hopes for the best five years with the Matheus Nunes winner with a dramatic winner in the 94th minute.
