Mark Hamill Had A Much Darker Idea For Luke Skywalker’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi Backstory

“The Last Jedi” sees Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) who lives on an isolated island on this planet AHCH-To. There, he spends his days in Aleppo-Sirens and hides from the rest of the galaxy away, away. This version of Locke is not a bold young hero who dreams of adventure in “Star Wars: Fourth Episode – New Hope”, either – he is an old man who is a strange abandonment of resistance and wants to be left alone. It is clear that this is a good one who was hurting him one day torture and troubled, but if Hamil was his way, the character would have been darker darker.

In an interview with “Bullseye with Jesse Thorn”, Hamil explained that he wanted to find Luke romantic and start a family – just to strip him away from him in a way that looks more suitable for a horror movie. As it put it:

“I thought, what could make someone give up sincerely what a religious entity is mainly, to give up his seriousness. Well, a woman’s love. So, he falls in love with a woman. He abandons his seriousness. They have received at some point. Herself.”

Although such a brutal background Locke was placed, Hamil was initially against the idea of the character be out of the network. In short, he is believed to contradict everything Jedi represented, which led to some differences with writer Ryan Johnson.

Mark Hamiel’s main case with Star Wars: The last serious

Mark Hamiel does not seem the biggest fans of “The Last Jedi”. In fact, some people believe that he hates the movie because of some of the comments he made after its release, in which he took the goal of his personality. Speaking to Comicbook soon after the movie released in 2017, Hamil explained that Luke Skywalker will not give up resistance, on the pretext that it contradicts Jedi Way:

“I said to Ryan,” Gidis does not give up. “I mean, even if [Luke] He had a problem, it might take a year to try to re -assemble their ranks, but if he made a mistake, he will try to correct this error, so we had a basic difference. But it is no longer my story, it’s the story of another person, and Ryan needed me to be a certain way to make the end effective. This is the essence of my problem. Luke will never say that. I’m sorry.”

Time in mind, the Hamil stadium to lose his family is more logical. If there is one thing that can force people to give up their beliefs and search for isolation, it is sadness – especially when it comes to their closest loved ones. However, Ryan Johnson is proud of “The Last Jedi” … even if Hamill has some problems on how to address the story.
