Nonprofits team up to help rebuild communities burned in LA fires

Los Angeles is slowly rebuilding six months after burning deadly forest fires across California. However, requests for rebuilding a thousand have been submitted only so far. Community members ascend to help make the process less complicated – and make the population closer to the home.
“I remember, as you know, just open the email and cry. I told my sister, I started crying,” said Marisol Espino, who lost her home in the Eiton fire.
The Espino family collapsed in crying – this time – if relieved after discovering that they had an opportunity to start again.
The 29 -year -old Marisol Espino’s childhood is burned in the Iton fire.
Esbino said: “Certainly gave us hope in this, as you know, the chaos that were in the past six months of our family … We knew that we will do everything in our power, whatever we can maintain our property,” said Espino.
Childhood home was burned at Marisol Espino, 29, in the Iton fire.
Forest fires in societies do not change: “We have left nothing.”
“The fire destroyed everything and not only wiped our house, but all our family’s property of generations and everything we have,” said Espino.
Immediately after that, the family explored its options to rebuild. But they did not know how to do this, until they found habitat for humanity.

The Espino family lived in her home for 29 years before burning.
“We immediately knew that this would be a very great and great opportunity for us to make it, as you know, they dream of returning our father to his home,” said Espino.
Victims of hashtaging fires do not receive a helpful plan: “I will have to fight with them during the next three years.”
Habitat for Humanity cooperates with the Foothill Catalog Foundation to help families such as the rebuilding Espinos.
“We have developed this prior approval process to allow homes that contain a specific group … and bypassing them mainly through the largest amount of permit and checking the plan to obtain a constructive permit as quickly

Victims can choose the design they love from a catalog of pre -approved houses.
Aterson said: “After that, all they have to do is to provide a site plan and make sure that this house is suitable for its location, and it fits with their budget and then work with a contractor and builder to implement this design actually.”

This process aims to provide victims and money.
“It is a very good opportunity to help reduce the cost of construction significantly through design and engineering fees,” said Brian Stanley, Director of Humanitarian Building in San Gabriel. Stanley said: “The last time I did one in Altadena, it was about nine months, so we hope that we will go down for weeks and go,” said Stanley.
