Microsoft is replacing Remote Desktop with its new Windows app

Microsoft ends a remote desktop support for Windows on May 27. If you are using a remote desktop application to connect to AZURUROS or Microsoft Dev, you will have to move to Windows instead.
The new Windows app, launched in September, includes multi -center support, dynamic display income, and access to cloud computers and virtual desktops. “Contacts will be banned to Windows 365, Azzure, and Microsoft Dev via remote desktop app from Microsoft Store after May 27, 2025,” Microsoft says.
The current distant desktop application should not be confused with a remote desktop connection application from Microsoft, which has been shipped inside Windows for more than 20 years. This application will continue to be in Windows 11 after May 27, and Microsoft says it can still be used to connect to machines until the remote desktop protocol (RDP) is supported in the Windows app.
RDP support may even mean that Microsoft will support personal accounts in its Windows app. You can only use the Windows app if you have a work account or a Microsoft School, despite Microsoft’s long -term ambition represented in the entire transfer of Windows to the cloud in order to “enable improved services on behalf of artificial intelligence and completely roam the digital experience of people.”
