Tennessee bill could hold charities liable if migrants they house commit crimes

A draft law on the Legislative Council in Tennessee can start developing charitable responsibilities if it includes an illegal immigrant who commits a crime.
The Law of the Law of the Home 811 aims to pressure organizations that do not turn into immigrants. However, organizational leaders say the procedure places an unfair burden on them, according to WZTV.
The draft law participates in its sponsorship of senator Brent Taylor and Representative Rusty Grills, both of whom are Republican.
Under the proposal, charitable organizations, including churches and homeless shelters, will be responsible for loss, damage, injury, or death caused by a migrant that includes knowledge if the organization’s behavior in providing housing constitutes neglect, serious neglect, or deliberate misconduct.

“The person who committed this towards, has a civil right to work against you,” Grills told WZTV.
Pastor Enok Fawz, the supreme priest of the missionary baptized church in Corinthi in Nashville, told the executor that the person who committed the crime is the only one who should bear responsibility.
“You can not bear anyone responsible for the behavior of someone except for the same person,” he said.
When asked if his church was planning to house illegal immigrants, Fuzz pledged to help people and said that he lived his entire life “based on the desire to help people.”

Fuzz has been pressed, WZTV asked him about the scenarios where the immigrant commits a crime.
“Well, what if someone goes out to commit a crime?” He answered.
Sam Sibel, Vice President of Development and Marketing with Nashville Rescue Mission, told WZTV that responsibility is not a good solution and that it would lead to resources.

He said, “Our intention here is to be the city of a haven, but we are a haven for people looking to get out of the dangers of streets, get some help, get some hope, get some food, and get some shelter.” “So our goal is, again, to help provide and provide humanitarian services. It does not implement immigration.”
Grills said that Taylor is planning to add amendments to the draft law to clarify what he will do, including expanding what it requires.
“The intention of this bill is not to criminalize those who provide temporary housing for shelter shelter,” Showat told WZTV. “It is to deter criminal activity.”
