National Guard can detain anti-ICE rioters in Los Angeles, DHS confirms

The Ministry of Internal Security says that the national guards deployed in Los Angeles have the authority to detention against ice riots in Los Angeles.
President Donald Trump has published about 4,000 national guards in the city with the continued riots, but Major General Scott Sherman said on Wednesday that there were only a small number of cases where civilians were detained.
The Secretary of the Secretary of the National Security Ministry of Security, Tricia McLeulin, says that forces on the ground to provide protection for ice agents and other federal law enforcement groups.
“If any of the riots of law enforcement officers on the ice, the military personnel have the authority to temporarily detain them until the law is arrested,” McLeulin told AXios in a statement.

Sherman told Associated Press on Wednesday that about 500 National Guard soldiers have been trained so far to help agents carry out immigration operations in Los Angeles.
Immigration officials have already circulated pictures of the National Guard soldiers who provide security to the Ministry of Internal Security agents.

AP told that during the past few days, the National Guard soldiers have temporarily detained the anti -ice demonstrators, although there was not much recently because things had calmed down.
Sherman also said that the soldiers did not participate in the arrest or law enforcement activities. Instead, they added, they allowed the instigators to go as soon as the police take them to the reservation.

California Governor Gavin New Zoom had a general conflict with the Trump administration, accusing the head of “detained” 2,000 from Members of the National Guard of the State “Illegally, without reason” without consulting with California law enforcement leaders.

Meanwhile, the Trump administration said that its ice operations aim to obtain “illegal migrant killers, rapists, gang gangs, drug dealers, human merchants, and local sympathizers from the streets.”
