Netflix Turning WWE Monday Night RAW Into Stranger Things Cosplay Party

Strange things It came to an explosive ending last week, but that doesn’t mean Netflix will stop milking every last drop from the series. A new animated spin-off will be released this summer, a live-action spin-off has been announced, and in an oddly timed cross-promotion, the series is taking over… WWE Raw On January 5th.
In the month since the crossover was announced, the streamer has been quiet about what it will involve, with only a vague hint of WWE entering the Upside-Down. After the finale, WWE asked fans attending the Brooklyn show to dress up Strange things– Inspired outfits, hoping to conquer the sea of Barclays Center costumes.
Netflix wants Stranger Things fans to stay subscribed

Clearly, Netflix wants to get… Strange things audience to watch WWE’s flagship show, which marks the one-year anniversary of its move to the streaming service. WWE Raw Streaming live every Monday night, it was the number one show on Netflix for the majority of last year, and with no more adventures to come in Hawkins, Indiana, the streamer needs to retain those subscribers, so what better way than with a stacked event with multiple title matches?
We don’t know what Strange things Fans will see when they tune in outside of the announced matches, including the Women’s Tag team Championship of Rhea Ripley and Io Sky vs. the Kabuki Warriors and the WWE World Heavyweight Championship between CM Punk (who, during his decade away from the sport, wrote the solo Drax series for Marvel Comics) and Braun Breaker (Rick’s son and Scott Steiner’s nephew). Each match should pay off in the last few weeks of the storyline, and with increased interest through cross-promotion, expect WWE to do everything it can to attract new viewers.
Nerds love wrestling

WWE has been used to cross-promoting throughout its long history, dating back to the 1980s and MTV’s Rock and Wrestling with Cyndi Lauper, but fans will remember the terrible period in the late 2000s dubbed the “Guest Host Era.” Every week, celebrities with a project to promote seem to have mixed results, from Hugh Jackman and Bob Barker highs to all-time lows for Snooki and Perez Hilton. Netflix has not announced whether any of these Strange things The cast will appear in person, but even if the fans don’t show up wearing their best ’80s looks, the wrestlers will.

If you think there’s no overlap between geek culture and WWE culture, think again, as the biggest geeks are often found in the ring. Xavier Woods, part of New Day, was a big reason for G4TV’s comeback a few years ago, and his gaming channel “Up Up Up Down Down” is one of the biggest on YouTube. Zelena Vega, who now appears on screen with her husband Aleister Black, has been rocking video games and anime-inspired wrestling gear for years, and even launched her own Twitch channel. There are more nerds on the roster now than at any other time in the company’s history, though what people really need to see is Bronson Reed doing his best hilarious Derek impression.
Outside the wrestlers are dressed Strange things– Inspired equipment and the possibility of obtaining a cool, inverted version of the usual set, no one knows what to expect when WWE Raw It is streaming live on Netflix. If it works out, fans can look forward to more cross-promotions in the future, because who can say no to Bridgerton An episode or invasion of one piece Straw Hat Pirates?
