Nissan recalls nearly 444,000 vehicles over faulty bearings and engine risk

Nissan recalls nearly 443,900 cars via specific models under its brand and Infiniti brand in the United States around a portion of disappointments that may cause engine failure.
Engine bearings within 2021-2024 Nissan Rog, 2019-2020 Nissan Altima, 2019-2022 Infiniti QX50 and 2022 may have Infiniti QX55 compounds, which may cause “manufacturing defect” that can cause engine damage and lead to engine failure, “according to the management of national highway safety (NHTSA).

The summons report indicated that the problem was “specific” for vehicles from those models that feature a 3.5 -liter 3 -cylinder turbo turbocharged or 4 -cylinder.
Malcon may face a “abnormal noise” from the engine cabin, rough running, malfunction indicators, or a set of tools if their car has problems with its bearings, according to the summons report.

More than 37800 years 2021-2024 Nissan Rog, 2019-2020 Nissan Altima, 2019-2022 Infiniti QX50 and 2022 Infiniti QX55 compounds are also under a summons in Canada for the same issue related to the engine, according to Nisan.

The car industry company told the Fox Business that the summons was “part of the Nissan Customer Safety Group’s commitment.”

Nissan said: “A treatment will be available, and the affected vehicles will receive a notification letter starting on August 22, 2025, with instructions to bring their car to a Nissan dealer or a retailer in Infiniti for inspection and repair if necessary.”
At the agency, employees will replace the general oil and engine oil and reprogram the engine control unit in the recovered vehicles that contain 3.5 -liter 3 -cylinder pressure engines if they do not find a wreckage during the inspection, according to the NHTSA recall report. In the same position of the 3.0 -liter 4 -cylinder pressure engines, they will put a new engine oil.

The engine replacement will occur “in the case where a specific wreck is discovered and confirmed by the Nissan Energy Generation Center,” said the NHTSA report.
