Northeast natural gas pipeline project could start this year: Energy secretary

Energy Minister Chris Wright said on Friday that working on a proposed pipeline to bring natural gas via New York to help save energy to New England can start by the end of this year.

In his appearance on “Morning with Maria”, Wright told Fox Business Network that he believed it was “very likely” that the alleged constitution pipeline, along with other non -specific pipelines, will move forward this year.

The constitutional pipeline will take natural gas from Pennsylvania to a center near Albani, New York, where it will be directed through other pipelines to New England. The project was banned in 2020 by New York State when the company rejected the necessary permits amid opposition to environmental activists.

“It is just a victory, a victory, a victory,” Wright said. ” “It may also reduce electricity prices, which, of course, will chant it as well, and allow companies in New England or in the New York City area to expand their business and develop more jobs.”

“No one is losing this, but the ridiculous policy several years ago stopped this tour in the first round. But I think it is very likely that these pipelines will be under construction before the end of this year,” said Wright.

The CEO of Williams Alan Armstrong, whose company was forced to retreat from the project in 2020, said last month that the project could return to the table – but only if the regional conservatives were supportive.

Wright’s comments come before a meeting between President Donald Trump and New York Governor Cathy Hochol, a democratic.

Trump is expected to discuss the pipeline with Hochul in an attempt to make the state government support the constitutional pipeline draft, and reporters at the Oval Office told that he does not want to use “the unusual forces of the federal government to accomplish it.”

In these statements, Trump added that the pipeline will provide families in New York and New England thousands of dollars in energy costs as soon as it operates.

“This will decrease – almost the most expensive energy in the world, located in New England because they have no way to reach it because it is holding it New York. All of them are in New England, Concitect and New York, energy prices pass through the ceiling,” Trump said.

He added: “This pipeline will provide, for every family, only $ 2,500 on heating and another $ 2,500 on everything else. So the energy, through just a simple pipeline that passes through an area you want.
