Now is not the time to buy a new graphics card

Graphics cards are absolute chaos now. I know, I talked several times about how wonderful the RX 9070 XT is definitely the best in the group, but only see the status of things. Even the “value” in 2025 is not eligible everywhere and the alternatives are worse. It should not be rewarded.

Maybe I should not tell you this. Digitaltrends is making good money from subsidiary links, and I love new devices as much as the next person. But graphics cards are not at the present time, and their purchase when you are at these enlarged prices, and pay to access stock trackers and private groups only to give you the opportunity to pay more money for another person, is a bad idea. It may work in the short term, but it is not something we want to establish for the future.

Now it is not the time to buy a new graphics card.

If you can, just wait for it

There is an old saying with computers that it is not the right time to upgrade, because there is always something new and shiny on the horizon. Even if you bought RTX 5090 and 9950 x 3D with all other high -end components that make your computer as quickly as up to 2025, it will not take place long before something else comes to replace it. New screens will make you look faded and slow, or you will update 200 CPU from a chain and make a new generous monster chip, or NVIDIA and AMD will update their GPU collection, making you feel less lightly.

But this time you should really wait. Although the progress process will continue, any delay in the upgrade means that you will have less time before something better comes, the prices and the availability this time are ridiculous. You should really wait, if you can.

If you have a new game you want to play and need a new graphics processing unit, I get it. But if you can delay this for a longer period to save several hundreds of dollars and Do not reward bad commercial practices, this is better for you and the industry as a whole.

Voting with your wallet

I like to enter the competitions back and forth in the hardware industry. Intel vs. AMD, AMD vs NVIDIA, Microsoft and Apple, everything is fun. But if the cards are sitting on the shelves for a long time, the prices always decrease. We have seen it generation after generation that the cards are poorly priced in price discounts. All graphics processing units are currently priced at the present time, even the new AMD. If they make them decrease the prices are the chicken game that we can win if we work together.

NVIDIA can start focusing more on games again. Nah, perhaps not.

Do not normalize the worst aspects

I completely understand everyone’s mentality for themselves, when the prices and availability are bad. If you want the new graphics processing unit and sit out of a small center for several days before the launch, I understand – even if my butt does not survive sitting on the concrete for more than 10 minutes. But the only thing you can do is worse than paying excessive retailers in repetition, is to pay other people for the privilege of doing so.
