Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan to visit White House amid China ties controversy

According to what was expected to visit the CEO of Intel White House on Monday after President Donald Trump invited him last week to overthrow him because of his alleged relationships with China.

The sources familiar with the plans told the Wall Street Journal that the two are expected to discuss Tan’s commitment to American national security and suggest ways in which Intel can work with the Trump administration.

Trump called for the resignation of Tan on Thursday after the Senate Republicans raised the warning about his links to Chinese companies and a criminal case related to his former company, Cadence Design Systems.

Writing on the social truth, Trump said that Tan “is very conflicting and must be immediately resigned,” adding: “There is no other solution to this problem.”

In a letter to Intel Board of Directors, US Republican senator Tom Couton “worried about the security of Intel operations and its potential impact on US national security.”

Couton asked whether the council was aware of the call notes sent to the rhythm design systems when Tan was the CEO before Intel rented it and what measures taken to address these concerns.

Koton also asked whether the Intel board of directors had asked Tan to withdraw from the chip -related china -or Communist Party companies, and whether Tan had revealed other relationships with Chinese companies because of Intel’s participation in a program that enhances the local supply of advanced survivors of national security.

A month after Tan exploited the leadership of the company, Reuters reported that Tan had invested in hundreds of Chinese companies – some of which had ties with the Chinese army. Hundreds of millions in Chinese manufacturing and chips also invested between March 2012 and December 2024, Reuters said. A source told Reuters earlier this year that Tan had got rid of his positions, although his abstraction was not clear.

Intel refused to comment when Fox Business arrived on Sunday. Fox arrived at the White House for comment.

Last month, Sadence Design Systems agreed to acknowledge guilt and paid more than $ 140 million to resolve the American charges to sell chips design products to a Chinese military university believed to be involved in nuclear explosions simulator.

The US Department of Justice accused the company of violating the export controls by selling illegal chip programs and devices to the front companies that represent a Chinese military university.

He was born in Malaysia and now an American citizen, Tan was appointed by the Intel Council as CEO in March.
