NYC mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani walks back defund police stance

The Democratic Mayor in New York, Zahran Mamdani, continues to walk in the traffic of the police discrimination, including on a national night against crime in the city on Tuesday night, but his opponent, Mayor Eric Adams, does not buy them.

“Do you only say things that must be elected, or do you say things that you believe in? Go to my 30 -year history, and you will see consistency as I want in this city about safety. Let’s not be associated with what it succeeds,” continued.

Mamdani faced a severe violent reaction after shooting 345 Park Avenue last month in Manhattan, where five individuals were killed, including the suspect and the New York Dedarol Islam.

“I have said that since the beginning of the campaign, this is my faith, and whenever there are tweets that were martyred several years ago before I was an elected official, I made it very clear, as I said last week, that these people are not a step with my specifications as a candidate.

On the Campaign’s path, Democrat confirms his position that there must be the establishment of a section of the safety of society to deal with some emergency issues related to mental health, rather than law enforcement.

He repeated his position at a press conference with senator Elizabeth Warren, Mass, on Monday, saying that “additional work” is a major contributor to the departure of NYPD officers, and that he wants to “enable police officers to respond to serious crime and employ mental health professionals to respond to mental health calls.”

He touched on her during his statements on Tuesday’s event as well, adding that “if we want our officers to be able to respond to the serious crimes they participated in to join the administration, we must stop their demand to respond to almost every failure in the social safety network.”
