Kimmel initially came under fire from fans after he falsely suggested that Kirk’s alleged killer was part of a “MAGA gang” despite reports of his left-wing ideology.

“We reached new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to paint this kid who killed Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of their own, and doing everything they can to score political points out of him,” Kimmel told his audience.

The Jimmy Kimmel Show was briefly suspended on September 17 after broadcast companies Sinclair Broadcast Group and Nexstar Media Group announced they would preempt the program due to Kimmel’s controversial comments.
