‘One Perfect Moment Was Enough To Stop Parker’
Fabio Wardley (20-0-1, 19 KOs) perfectly summed up how he earned his win over Joseph Parker (36-4, 24 KOs) last Saturday by just needing to be “Perfect for that moment” scoring an 11th round TKO at the O2 Arena in London.

After the fight, Wardley explained that he doesn’t need to take a “perfect” 12-round fight. All he needed was that moment to score the knockout, and then make up for losing the other rounds.
The one-shot king speaks
The one-shot King Wardley noted, ““Avoid the fighter” In division, the reason for this is his punching power. And also his willingness to walk through fire to get the win. This is what separates him from other heavyweights in the division, who don’t want to deal with the pain of applying pressure.
Averted for some reason
“I’m the fighter that gets avoided in the heavyweight picture, and I back myself against any fighter out there. I don’t need to be perfect for 12 rounds, I just want to be perfect in that one moment,” Wardley said.
Fabio’s win over interim WBO heavyweight champion Parker made him mandatory for undisputed champion Usyk. Wardley’s promoter, Frank Warren, said after the fight that Usyk would have to face him next.
If he chooses not to do so, he will be stripped of his WBO title, and Wardley will be promoted to the new champion. The WBO has already ordered Usyk to defend against the next mandatory. This leaves him no choice.
White collar to the world stage
“Have you ever seen anything like this? Fabio Wardley has no experience, and he’s a white-collar fighter who is now going to fight for the undisputed title?” promoter Frank Warren told BoxNation, reflecting on Fabio Wardley’s win over Joseph Parker.
It’s rare for a fighter who has worked his way into the boxing business at the age of 20 and works his way to the brink of a world title without any amateur experience.
“If you bought that fight, how can you not enjoy it? If you buy that fight, how can you not enjoy it?,” Warren said of fans who complained about the undercard of Parker vs. Wardley. There’s always someone who’s going to groan. You don’t like it, don’t buy it. “No one is forcing you to buy it.”
Fans were divided on the undercard
Many boxing fans complained about last Saturday’s undercard. They felt it lacked any notable fights to justify the pay-per-view price on DAZN. If Warren had had one good fight involving top fighters in the co-feature position, fans wouldn’t have complained as much.
“Olexander, I have the utmost respect for you. Let’s hurry up and get this fight started. Everyone wants to see it,” Warren said about his letter to Usyk about wanting to fight him and Wardley next.
