OpenAI Forced to Abandon Plans to Become For-Profit

Many of that.
Money matters
Openai may be in the investor dough, but partly thanks to the former founder Elon Musk, the company will not aim to profit any time soon.
In this week’s blog post, SAM Altman, which it runs, announced that it will remain under the control of its original non -profit board because it converts its planned restructuring efforts for its profit arm.
“It will move to our LLC company, which has been under profit since 2019, to the Public Affairs Company (PBC),” Reading, which is “the structure of the company based on the purpose of the purpose must be seen in the interests of both shareholders and task.”
Although Musk was not named, this hint to “The Mission”-Building AGI (AGI) which “benefits from all humanity”-is due to the billionaire suit that claims that Openai rejoiced at the aforementioned purpose when its arm was initially launched in 2019 when he leaves.
Openai claims that it is related to the decision to stay under the control of the non-profit board of directors-which is the same match that was launched in late November 2023, to re-re-it after a few days-“after listening to civilian leaders and engaging in constructive dialogue with the offices of the Public Prosecutor in Dilayer and General in California.”
The task is impossible
In late December, amid the constant Musk suit that was initially presented in March 2024, the company announced its plans to restructure to PBC that would help it “raise the capital more than we imagine” while staying on the basis.
That plan, as CNN Reports, alarm bells on how Openai’s balancing money raised money through the useful AGI mission. This last step seems to be its response – although according to Musk Mark Tobrov’s lawyer, the PBC advertisement “changes something”.
“The announcement of Openai is a transparent dodge that fails to address basic issues:” Bloomberg. “The foundational mission is still baked.”
In refuting to the same port, one of those familiar with Musk returned to Musk and “an unfounded suit”, which “only proves was that it was always a bad attempt to slow us down.”
Regardless of the accusations, this is still far from converting Openai to a good-intentioned profit project-regardless of what the company claims, the MUSK case-based lawsuit played a role in ensuring that this does not happen.
