The leader of the minority in the House of Representatives, Hakim Jeffrez, is calling for President Donald Trump and his senior officials to “justify” the last US military strikes in Iran.
Jeffrez said: “We have not yet seen any evidence that the offensive strike of this nature was justified by the law of war authorities or the constitution.”
“But the whole reason for the Trump administration to reach this process is to go out to the Capitol Hill and persuade the American people and their elected representatives in the House of Representatives and in the Senate. This did not happen.”
Trump officials confirmed that the strike was in compliance with the law of war authorities, which requires the White House to notify congress within 48 hours of taking military measures and prevents that operation from continuing for more than 60 days without the approval of the legislators.

Jeffrez claimed that he had not seen “a law of evidence yet” showing “an imminent threat to the United States of America.”
“If the administration has evidence, the opposite, then reach it. We are not difficult to find. I am not hiding,” he said.

Meanwhile, Jeffrez has submitted multiple questions about these calls to dismiss during his press conference, and instead, his request was reaffirmed that Trump officials would come to Congress.
“A tool on the table now is to continue to demand that the administration take itself in front of the United States conference and put the issue to the American people about the reason for taking this exceptional step. This is the first step,” said Jeffrez.
“The second step is for the decision of the war forces, whether it was already presented or other who may be subsequently presented, in order for these decisions to be discussed in the house hall, as they should have already occurred. Then we will see where we are after.”
“This is a dangerous moment, and we have to deal with what is in front of us, and what is before us is that the Trump administration is the responsibility for attending to Congress, we do not want no evidence to justify its identity strength in Iran,” Jeffrez said.

“The White House made invitations to the leadership of Congress. They were calls from the two parties. In fact, it was not possible to reach the sage of Jeffrez. We tried it before the strike, and the phone did not pick up, but it was informed after it, as well as [Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y.]”He was brought up before the strike,” said Levitte.
