Over 44K Audi vehicles recalled due to software issue that causes speedometer to fail

More than 44,000 AUDI cars have been called for a program problem that causes the tool panel width, warning lights and speed scale to stop working.

The National Road Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) published the summons to its website, saying that 44387 was affected by the summons.

Volkswagen Group of America Inc. Certain 2021 SQ8, A6 Sedan, A7, A8, Q7, Q8, Q8, RS6 Avant, RS7, RSQ8, S6 Sedan, S7, S8, A6 Allroad and SQ7 due to the program’s issue.

“The virtual driving tool collection may close the car due to the discovery of an internal error,” says a document linked to the recall. “When this happens, the engine speed (RPM), the speed of the car and the gear/mode indicators will not be displayed. In addition, other information is also not displayed, such as time, date and miles. Warnings, tales and measurement that may not be exposed to may increase the risk of breakdowns.”

Those who drive the AUDI 2021 are encouraged to visit the NHTSA website, where the search for the car’s identification number will determine whether the car is part of the summons.
