Pentagon chief Hegseth orders reduction in 4-stars in the U.S. military

Defense Minister Beit Higseth announced on Monday that the US military will soon witness a significant decrease in the number of general officers in all branches.

This limit called as a “historic” step to achieve President Donald Trump’s commitment to “achieving peace through power.”

“We will transfer resources from the elements of the headquarters to our fighters,” Higseth said.

According to HegSeth, there are currently 44 four -star officers and science throughout the army, making the ratio of one general to 1400 soldiers, compared to World War II from a general to 6000 soldiers.

Higseth, who pledged to convert the army into “more deadly, deadly power”, issued a memorandum of Pentagon’s senior employees on Monday, in which he ordered discounts in two phases.

In the first stage, HegSeth ordered a “minimum” reduction by 20 % of generals and science staff in the active component as well as a 20 % reduction in the National Guard.

In the second stage, the Secretary requests an additional 10 % reduction in general and science officers throughout the army.

The Secretary described the discounts of part of “less than the generals, more geographical information systems policy.

In a video announcement of the change, he said that the cuts will be achieved “carefully, but this will be done quickly.”

“This is not an oblique and burning exercise aimed at punishing high -ranking officers,” he said, but “a deliberative process, and working with the chiefs of the joint with one goal: maximizing strategic and operational effectiveness by conducting wise discounts.”

“We must be meager and medium,” he said. “In this case, this means discounts of public officers,” Higseth said.

congress puts the number of general officers permitted in the army. The total number of public employee or officers in active service was crowned in 219 for the army, 150 for the Navy, 171 for the Air Force, 64 for the Marine Corps and 21 space force.
