A look at the trade profiles of the 14 countries named in Trump’s tariffs letter

Fourteen countries were granted until August 1 to negotiate commercial deals with the Trump administration or risk to impose high definitions.

While the majority of the new definitions announced on Monday reflect the rates proposed by the president Donald Trump In April, Los and Burma are scheduled to face 40 % higher tax.

Trump announces 25 % of the customs tariff in Japan, South Korea

Bangladesh

impact: Bangladesh’s economy depends greatly on the American market. Nearly 80 % of the total export profit in Bangladesh is supported by the clothing industry, which also employs about 4 million people.

Cambodia

South Africa

2024 Export value: 14.7 billion dollars.

Commercial relationship value: 20.5 billion dollars.

tariff: 30 %.

Thailand

Main exports: Cars, electronics, machines, agriculture.

2024 Export value: 63.3 billion dollars.

Commercial relationship value: 81.0 billion dollars.

tariff: 36 %.

impact: The best commercial partners in Thailand are the United States, followed by China. In 2024, Thailand exported $ 63.3 billion to the United States and imported US goods $ 17.7 billion. Bangkok offered more commercial privileges for Washington in order to avoid a 36 % collective tariff.
