Rangers ‘not oblivious to the noise’ around Russell Martin’s appointment, says CEO Patrick Stewart | Football News

The CEO of Rangers Patrick Stewart admits that the Abrox Council is not “unaware of noise”, which surrounds the employment of the new coach, Russell Martin.

After Kevin thewell was officially installed as a sports director on Monday, 39 -year -old Southampton coach, who had a loan talisman as a player in Rangers in 2018, was confirmed in the IBROX Hot seat Thursday morning.

However, the date has not been achieved with a comprehensive approval of many of the supporters of GERS who registered their refusal to choose the new council before its arrival.

While referring to the opinions of the fans, Stewart believes that IBrox has taken a diligent approach to find a successor to Philip Clement, who left the club in February, before Captain Barry Ferguson took over until the end of the season.

“First, we are always very sensitive and we realize the feelings of supporters on any issue,” Stewart said.

And yes, I realize that supporters have strong opinions about who is the right person for this role.

“So, we will always work on it, but I am equally, I was talking a lot about the process and making sure we have people and experts qualified to make decisions.

“So we really put our confidence in our operation, making sure we have people suitable for making decisions. Thus, it was followed with a lot of discipline.

“We are not inappropriate for noise at all, not at all.

“But I believe that we are confident that we have had a comprehensive process to transfer us to this point where we appointed Russell, and that we are confident that the supporters will get it, especially when they see it at work.”

Stewart believes that the appointment of Martin, who also comes at the back of the seizure of last Friday by an American consortium led by Andrew Cavinagh and 49ers, changed a “seismic” at the Abrax Club.

Stewart said: “It is clear that it is very important,” Stewart said.

“These are two seismic changes. In fact, three, if you look, we have been able to change the property, followed by our sports director, followed by a head coach.

“This is a lot of activity for one club in one week.

“So I think it stands out a really positive new chapter for the club.

“It is a seismic period for the club and sets a truly strong basis for the future.”

After a cup without a cup for Rangers, Stewart set his forecast for Martin, saying: “First of all, taking into account the current team that we got and made it better, then added to the team during the summer.

“It comes to competing again.

“I think we all accept this season last season, we were on our way, and this is not where we want to be.

“This is unacceptable as a club. So it comes to competing again on all fronts and this is expectation.”
