Republican senators defend Trump tariffs, claim they boost the economy

Republican Senators who spoke to Fox News Digital at Capitol Hill said that the United States is “on the threshold of the Golden Age”, thanks to President Donald Trump’s policies.

When asked how Trump’s tariff affects the price of goods and services, Republicans in the Senate defended the ambitious policy of the president, and they told Fox News Digital that his definitions have already strengthened their local economies.

“Well, in Indiana, we have seen a big boost in our industrial economy,” as senator Jim Banks, R-Indiana, claimed, due to this alleged reinforcement in a large part to Trump and his introductory policies.

Senator Eric Schmidt, R-MO, said that Trump’s tariff creates more manufacturing functions in the United States. In addition to his tax and commercial policies and organizational reform, Senator Missouri said that the United States is entering its golden age, just as Trump promised.

But not everyone is convinced. Trump has been criticized since he announced his plan to impose a global tariff and a country on all American imports, encourage local manufacturing and pressure American commercial partners to return to the negotiating table.

“You have to remember that President Trump’s trade strategy is to maintain who is negotiating with balance, then gets a better deal. He is a major negotiator.”
