Republicans probe questionable Biden-era grant program for conflicts of interest

First on the fox: Republicans in congress launched an investigation into the Green Energy Grant Program in the Biden era, which sent billions of dollars in financing for climate groups associated with Democrats and former President Joe Biden’s allies.

Republican party leaders in the Energy and Trade Committee in the House of Representatives sent messages to the eight non -profit organizations granted grants from the 20 billion dollar greenhouse gas reduction fund (GGRF), where they are looking for answers to ensure that the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) follows the appropriate ethics and conflict protocols in the distribution of funds.

In February, the Environmental Protection Agency announced from the Trump administration that it would take steps to recover money, noting concerns about the lack of supervision of how to exchange money. In this announcement, Lee Zeldin, the new director of EPA, was martyred with comments from one of the former political appointed in Biden, who described the payments through GGRF as “throwing the golden bars from Titanic”, because Biden officials were trying to get money before Trump took over.

It has also been shown that two billion dollars from GGRF went to a group linked to the Stacy Abrams power, which was not established until after the BIDEN administration announced the GGRF request. Meanwhile, during the first few months of Power Forward – before receiving funding – the group reported only $ 100 of revenues.

The Climate United, another group that has received the most money from GGRF, is about $ 7 billion, currently working on Biden’s former climate consultant who has worked in the past two years of the mandate of the former president. The same group is also run by the CEO and has relations with the Obama administration and a member of the board of directors who were among those who were invited to attend the Biden signing ceremony of the Bill Banchial Bill in Millions of dollars in 2021.

Many GGRFs have ties with Democrats and Biden consultants, and some of them were established shortly before or after the Biden administration announced the program. Meanwhile, these groups, according to Zilden, had a dedicated discretionary authority on how to use money.

” In addition to his fellow members of the committee, Gary Palmer from Alabama and Morgan Griffiths from Virginia, and both Republicans, in a joint statement, their investigation in the beneficiaries of the beneficiaries will also be. ”

“The committee has had concerns about the program to reduce greenhouse gases since its establishment – including concerns about the unusual structure of the program, the potential lack of due care in the selection of prize recipients, and the ability of the recipients to manage the large flow of the federal dollar they received from the Environmental Protection Agency,” legislators said in their statement.

“The session of the sub -committee for control and investigations that studied these concerns has increased in addition to the speed at which the money was removed from the door by the Environmental Protection Agency for the Biden Administration, the committee’s concerns increased and additional questions about some beneficiaries of the hematical gases reducing.”
