Sam Darnold locks lips with fiancée Katie Hoofnagle after ending Seahawks’ 11-year Super Bowl deficit following 31-27 over Rams in NFCCG

Sam Darnold’s team, the Seattle Seahawks, will be playing in the Super Bowl after 11 long years.

After the Seahawks beat the Los Angeles Rams 31-27 in the 2025 NFC championship Game on Sunday, Darnold ran toward the sidelines to hug and share a kiss with his wife, Katie Hufnagel.

Koofnagle posted photos of the special moment on Instagram on Sunday.

In a follow-up Instagram Story, she shared a snapshot of Darnold receiving the NFC Championship Trophy after the win.

The caption read, “LFG 14!”

The Seahawks earned their first Super Bowl berth since 2015.

This will be Sam Darnold’s first Super Bowl appearance as a quarterback in his eight-year NFL career.

Darnold was on the San Francisco 49ers roster in 2023 when they reached the Super Bowl and played against the KC Chiefs but did not play as a starter.

Darnold also became the first QB from the 2018 NFL Draft class, which includes Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson and Baker Mayfield, to start in a Super Bowl.

He signed with the Seattle Seahawks on March 13 on a $100.5 million contract after playing with the Minnesota Vikings in 2024.

On February 8, the Seahawks vs. Patriots game will be a rematch of the dramatic Super Bowl XLIX.

For Sam Darnold’s first conference championship game against the Rams on Sunday, Katie Hufnagel opted for a chic outfit.

She was wearing a black zip-up hoodie with blue wide-leg jeans.

Hoofnagle paired it with pointed shoes.

On the blue wide-leg jeans, the number “14” is printed in white on the left side, which is Darnold’s jersey number.

On the back pocket of the pants, the Seahawks QB’s initials are printed in black.

Sam Darnold announced his engagement to Katie Hufnagle in July.

Hoofnagle shared the photos on Instagram with the caption, “Yes!!!!”
