It seems that the group of American voters who have been transformed in large numbers of Democrats to Republicans in recent years about the combustible issue of immigration are in fact migrants in the country themselves.

A view of pre-election and post-election polls from 2020 and 2024 indicates that 49 points were swing by voters born outside the United States-the vast majority of them considers immigrants-where the main political party is doing better in dealing with the issue of immigration.

The data of the US National Electoral Studies (ANES) from the 2020 presidential elections indicates that voters born in another country said they prefer Democrats instead of Republicans on the immigration issue with a margin of 58 % -24 %.

Four years later, the data indicated that 45 % of the voters born in another province have been voted in the 2024 presidential elections that the Republican Party would do better work in dealing with them, as 30 % indicated the Democratic Party.

There has been a smaller but still prominent from Democrats to Republicans by all voters, according to Anas data, which is the oldest election study in the world (dating back to 1952) and is often referred to as the golden standard of electoral surveys.

Darwin Show, who works as a member of the Fox News Decision Team, the Republican Partner in the Fox News poll, said that the great shift towards the Republican Party in the immigration case by those born outside the United States “reflects the fact that immigrant voters began supporters of democracy.

Shaw also pointed out that before President Donald Trump first runs for the White House in 2016, Immigration and border security in general were seen as separate issues.

“Since Trump came at the scene of the accident, these issues have really created the Republican feature,” Shu said.

“You see a movement towards the Republican Migration Party because it focuses largely on border security. This is true with the non -immigrant population as well as the migrant population,” said Shaw, a professor of politics and president at the University of Texas.

Immigration and border security were the main issues that highlight Trump while he was carrying out a campaign to restore the White House in the presidential elections last year.

Republicans won the control of the presidency and the Senate and defended the majority of their small house in the 2024 elections. Republicans have achieved gains between black, Latin and younger voters, all of whom are traditional members at the Democratic Party base.

Border security and migration remained in the country’s political spotlight within about five months since Trump returned to the White House, thanks to the president’s comprehensive and controversial movements in the two cases.

In order to extinguish the escalating protests in Los Angeles, which were ignited by the migration raids carried out by the ice in the direction of his administration, Trump sent the National Guard and even the Marine Corps. The turmoil and movements by Trump dominated the headlines of national newspapers for about a week.
