The Ministry of Defense ordered 700 US Navy to leave Los Angeles, California on Monday, more than a month after they deployed in the city against the will of the city leaders and amid violent demonstrations against American immigration and customs procedures (ICE).

The Trump administration deployed 700 naval infantry and about 4,000 National Guard soldiers in Los Angeles in early June to suppress riots and anti -immigration and customs protests (ICE).

The marine infantry designated for the area was limited to defenders of federal buildings, including the ice office and detention facility in the center of Los Angeles.

“With the return of stability to Los Angeles, the Secretary sent a re -posting of 700 naval infantry whose presence sent a clear message: chaos will not be tolerated,” said Sean Barnil, a Pentagon spokesman. “Their response, their steadfast discipline, and the presence of unambiguous role was a fundamental role in restoring the system and supporting the rule of law. We are very grateful to serve them, and to obtain the strength and professional competence they brought to this task.”

The Pentagon’s decision to leave the marine infantry comes after half of the National Guard forces ordered the city to leave last week.

The mayor, Karen Bass, described the withdrawal of the forces “another victory in Los Angeles.”

“This is the last Los Angeles victory, but this is also a victory for those who serve this country in the uniform,” said Bass on Monday. “I stood this morning with the veterans, families of active service officers, and business leaders to show the impact of this unnecessary, unnecessary and unconstitutional attack on our city. We have taken the administration to the court and now won, and we are now continuing momentum with Los Angeles news today.

California Governor Gavin New Roosm filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration to deploy the National Guard forces in California despite his opposition. He said that the National Guard forces are likely to violate the Posse Comitaus law, which prevents the forces from conducting the enforcement of the civil law on American soil.

Newsom won an early victory in the case after a federal judge died that the publication of the goalkeeper was illegal and bypassed Trump’s authority. The Court of Appeal threw this, and the forces have been controlled with the federal government. The Federal Court is scheduled to hear the arguments next month on whether the forces violate the Posse Comitaus law.
