Schofield Sr. Targets Boxing’s Four Horsemen For Torch
- Devin Haney
- Gervonta Davis
- Shakur Stevenson
- Abdullah Maysoon
Of the four, the ones Floyd Sr. wants most for his son Schofield Jr. are Tank, Haney, and Shakur. He considers them more important than Abdullah, saying he does not think they will stay much longer.
Haney and Shakur aren’t going anywhere, but their careers could take a nosedive if they start facing more serious opposition they’ve avoided so far. Moving into this type of fight could be disastrous, similar to what we saw with Haney’s loss to Ryan Garcia.
In Shakur’s case, many fighters between the ages of 135 and 140 would all be at fault for his career. He had a hard enough time getting past William Zepeda and Edwin de los Santos.
“We called them all. We want them.” Four knights. “They’re great, so we can take the torch from them, and then we’ll fight Mason and the rest of the guys that come in,” Floyd Schofield Sr. told MillCity Boxing about his desire to take the torch away from The Big Four.
There is little chance that Schofield will get a chance to face WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis. He was selective with the opposition he faced during his career. With his hand speed and strength, Schofield doesn’t fit the mold of the fighters that Tank Davis has typically fought as a pro.
Of course, if Turki Al Sheikh offered Tank a huge wallet to fight Scofield, that’s different. This scenario seems unlikely, given that there are more popular fighters who might offer more attractive options for a Turk to match against Tank. Shakur is one of them.
“We want them all. For Kid.” [Schofield Jr.] To be the greatest of all time, he must fight all the greats of this time. We want Tank, because he’s retiring soon, and he’s one of the greats. We want thanks. “We want Mason, but he still has some growing to do,” Schofield Sr. said.
Kid Austin may have spooked the Four Horsemen with his recent first-round knockout win over Tevin Farmer on June 28, 2025. After that performance, Schofield’s chances of getting any of the four he wanted may have declined.
“These other guys are about to leave. We wanted Devin. We’ve been calling him since he was 135.”
It’s hard to see any of the top names giving Schofield Jr. a chance to take the torch from them. He will likely be invisible to them, alongside talents like Andy Cruz and Ernesto Mercado.
